Sessions are held in warm, comfortable spaces
During a first session I will be interested in who you are and what you are currently experiencing. It helps me to get a sense of you and what you want to work on in therapy. Hopefully it will give you a clearer idea as to whether you want to work with me. We will discuss ongoing therapy if you wish to. Equally, there is no obligation for you to continue. Everything you say will be kept confidential.
WHERE WOULD WE MEET WHEN THERAPY BEGINS?
All sessions take place at the Practice Rooms in central Bath. There is a picture of one of the rooms I work in above. If you would like to book a first appointment, I will ask for your contact details and email or text full details and directions.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW AT THIS POINT?
We will take everything at your pace. There will no pressure on you to do anything. My role is to be clear about my availability and find out what works for you. I endeavour to always treat you and your decisions with respect.
FEELING WORRIED OR ANXIOUS ABOUT STARTING THERAPY?
It is completely normal to feel conflicted or scared about beginning therapy. It can be a big decision and quite a commitment. TV , your own and/or other people's experiences might have given you the impression that you have to reveal everything in order to be doing it properly or achieving something. This kind of no pain to gain philosophy can be quite frightening. If you feel this anxiety, it can be helpful to tell me. How you feel is important. Your feelings will be listened to, treated with respect, empathy and kindness.
STILL HAVE SOME DOUBTS?
To help you make a decision as to whether you want to work with me, I offer a free, 20 minute phone call. By free, I mean I don't charge anything for this. During this call I will address any practical questions. For us to address your difficulties, you need to attend therapy in person.
The number to ring is 07904 612467.
